WMR FAQ

What Is A WMR?
The ESPN WMR is an add-on device to the ESPN XDS Satellite Receiver (this device DOES NOT replace your existing ESPN XDS Receiver). This companion technology will assist the ESPN Radio Network team in providing more reliable audio transmissions via satellite and Internet delivery. It will also improve protection of original content rights and better honor league play-by-play agreements managed by ESPN Radio to ensure our team can continue to provide your listeners with the best sports content for seasons to come.

Where Should It Be Installed?
For AM stations, the WMR should ideally fall within the 10 mV contour. For FM stations the WMR should be located within the 70 dBµ contour. The WMR requires a standard 120v outlet and a wired connection to the Internet.

Do I Need To Configure The WMR Receiver?
No, everything has been preconfigured and is ready to go right out of the box.

How Do I Know If My WMR Is Working Properly?
Once you've installed your WMR receiver, please send an email to WMR@ESPN.com and an engineer will verify that your WMR is setup correctly.
